Not an issue for me anymore :( but when my mum was alive I always bought cards a year ahead because they were not usually out here in time.

I know... it'll be my first without my mother. Went into Clintons in London today and had to walk right back out again because of the 'Mothers' Day' stuff everywhere. :( :( :(

THORNTON'S! OMG I miss them so much!!!

What a great idea for a gift. I received the reminder from Interflora but it seems like we always do flowers - this would make a nice change.

Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up.. Last year I got caught out because I thought (stupidly) that I would be able to get cards here. It'll have to be flowers :)

I miss thorntons, i can guarentee that within the first week of moving back i would have visited there and brought some toffee lol.

I use cadburys direct a lot to deliver gifts to pple, they do a nice bouquet of flowers with some choccie for 25 pound and the shipping is reasonable. I always put a search in for discount coupons too on the net and you can always find one lol.

I had the same thing on the first fathers day after I lost my dad - full blown meltdown in the card shop.

As Samba said - it does get easier - still stings a little bit though.

Re: Mothers Day in UK

Thank you for the heads up! I often get caught out, despite my very best intentions. I use this company to send cards when I haven't managed to post anything in time. It's a great contingency plan, and whilst I may not have written them personally, the words and thoughts are mine. More importantly for me, the cards say Mum not Mom.
