World Market is selling Mothers Day Cards, or I highly recommend moon pig.com
I've also had good results from M&S when sending flowers

Re: Mothers Day reminder

I bought extra cards last Mothers Day so I could send them to the UK this year. However, as it turns out I am going to the UK in 2 weeks for my brothers wedding so I am going to leave the 3 cards there (mother, mother in law and stepmother). I am also going to buy 3 Mothers Day cards that say 'Mum' when I am there so I can send them next year. Of course I will probably forget where I put them and will end up buying cards via Moonpig!

Why don't you just keep the cards you already have for next year and buy cards for this year when you're in the UK?
It would save having to take cards backwards and forwards.

I normally use Moonpig for sending cards in the UK, though this year my mom will be here on Mother's Day so now I have to use the US version of Moonpig and get a Mother's Day card as they won't be in the shops here yet.

I used to do that when I first came here. My mum has been gone 19 years now. I still miss her. :(

I also use Moonpig for cards and have used them to send flowers also, don't think you can beat them tbh but I may try one of the other sites that's been recommended for a change this Mother's Day. Just out of interest, why's it so late this year, I always thought it was in March

They changed it this year so all us late Expats can be on time for a change ;)

Its my Mum's b/day today, so had flowers delivered to her for her b/day and Mothers Day, (although it is a way off yet!!) Need to get organized and get my cards... Thanks to MsElui for reminding us

thanks for this. Just used this and pre-ordered a bunch of flowers (plus the free choccies) for my mother.

I'm terrible at remembering the different Mother's Day date; although from memory I think that Father's Day is the same in both countries. You certainly can't miss it in the US since the stores start promoting it about 6 weeks early. I'll be in Australia at the time so the pre-ordering for the UK is perfect.

Thank you

Has anyone ordered cards of Clinton's website before? I was thinking that might solve the mum/mom card problem. 'Mom' makes me cringe so I just couldn't send a mom card. Okay, I'd need to get the card sent here by Clintons before posting it back, but I'd have thought there's enough time to do that.

I've been trying to buy a birthday card for my dad all week. I truly can't believe how awful the cards are out here - super gushy, or supposedly 'humourous' that doesn't work, or American-football themed is all you can get.

They do nice cards over here...also plenty of nice blank ones, so you can write your own message :)

My wife found some Mothers Day cards in a card shop in Seattle yesterday. It wasn't a chain though.

just a reminder = one more week to use this site (with the discount) in time for mothers day. Just ordered mine and was very pleased to see they took paypal as well as the usual stuff.

'Mum' makes me cringe. It's assumed that everyone in "blighty" refers to their mother as "mum". It was always "mom" where I grew up.

Are you from the Midlands? Where I grew up it's Mam, which is rare to find too, so I'm not too bothered about sending cards with Mom on now. This time of year is bloody expensive for me - my mother's birthday, my grandmother's birthday, and Mother's day. Bah
