sod all myself, but then my mothers birthday is next week
My mum lives with me, so "visiting mum" on Mother's Day is rather moot for me. I am thinking of a trip to somewhere in the USA - a Tuesday-Friday trip somewhere. Someplace that mother's would like to see ... open to suggestions, I have asked my mum where she would like to go (so long as it was any place in Alaska ... ). I do want to visit Alaska, but this is Mother's Day ... so it's up to her. I was thinking of a few days at the Bellagio resort on the Las Vegas Strip, but done that. Somewhere really nice - a really nice hotel somewhere "nice". Not SF, Vegas, Chicago, Houston or PA, OH, IL, VA, WV ... somewhere mum hasn't been, but which doesn't involve a lot of walking. A nice resort somewhere, good food, things to see, etc.

Got to treasure them while they are around. My mum's birthday is coming up, so it makes sense to roll the two events together. My mum said she would like to go to Mall of America near Minneapolis (MN). Mum watched a TV show that featured it.

Looking at Mall of America web site there are some pretty good deals, I am going to pick the best hotel available (not quite the Bellagio, since spending some time there, I sort of judge hotels against the Bellagio), but it will be fun for her. I can't stand shopping, always a quick affair with me, so it will be the man-made sights that I will be interested in seeing, and anyway I am a hopeless holiday maker (such a strange term, like we make holidays). So will be drafting legal papers while sipping coffee in some nice coffee shop in the mall while mum does some shopping. I hope there's a Marshall's there.
