Default The most famous British Expat in the USA

Interesting bit on Jonathan Ive, who is the design guru from Newcastle Polytechnic who is credited with some of the amazing products to come from Apple over the last decade.

Rather long write up here:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/mosl...gn-genius.html

Also speaks about how England "lost" a great talent due to a guy in a red clown nose.

Kind of an amusing read...but his name is probably as recognisable as Tim Berners-Lee is to the average Joe out there

Yea, famous is probably not the best. I bet if you said "ipod vs beckham" there would be more than knew the first, just not the guy who made it.

Wonder if he is the richest? I thought it said he is getting $15 million this year alone in stock. Nice job.

Yes - I'm afraid that the most famous British Expat in the US is probably still Simon Cowell (despite the fact that he may not even be in the US any more) closely followed by David Beckham ...

I saw him interviewed once - he seemed a complete tool. I guess that amazing success is hard to handle without letting it go to your head.

I'm sad and happy.

Sad because it is probably true.

Happy because I didn't even give him a thought which means he's so far out of my mind as not to pollute it.
