Mortgage in US
Does anybody have recommendations for a good mortgage company to purchase a house in US (Virginia)?

Are you a customer of a bank that provides mortgages?
Sometimes you can get special deals.

Check out a local credit union, see what you need to do to join if their rates are good.

Re: Mortgage in US
We recently used Rocket Mortgage by Quicken Loans. I can't recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, the process was so smooth. Having only moved from the U.K in April last year, our worry was we wouldn't be able to produce enough paperwork to qualify for a mortgage. I am still new to credit in the U.S, so that was also a worry. They knew how to handle everything, they knew what the U.K equivalents were with certain paperwork. It was all done online, so extremely easy and fast. You just log into the portal and upload the requested documents. From first applying, to closing on our house and actually getting the keys took around 2 months.

I too have good things to say about Rocket Mortgage. They have a very easy streamlined online process.
I would check rates and start here: https://www.bankrate.com/compare-rates.aspx
Mindful that a good mortgage broker can usually match if not better most rates if your requirements are non-standard or more exotic.
