How do I get a Mortgage to build on a property(Land) that I own outright in Texas as a British Citizen

Rocket Mortage has a good primer on the different types of "construction loans" and "construction mortgages" that are available (note: I've never used Rocket and don't know much about them, but this was a pretty good primer when we were considering similar).

If you have a custom home builder lined up then speak to them about it - they may have some negotiated deals with certain lenders.

They usually expect a Contractor to have a certain track record.
