"US politicians are proposing a tough new law aimed at cracking down on indecency and bad language on US TV. Fines of up to $500,000 (£266,582) could be imposed each time broadcasters transmit nudity or profanities."

Good thing we've haven't got anything more important to worry about, eh?

"Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children?"

As the nation approaches the one-year anniversary of the Super Bowl XXXVIII tragedy, an FCC study shows that millions of U.S. children were severely traumatized by the exposure to a partially nude female breast during the Feb. 1, 2004 halftime show.

Good job it only applies to TV. BE website would be out of business within a day.

My first impression of US telly was that it had way too many ad breaks (obviously) and that it showed way more violence than Brit TV some of those Law & Order/ Third Watch/ CSI programmes showed loads of really gross murders, gory beatings, graphic rapes etc I was actually quite taken aback that this stuff goes but showing an ass crack doesn't. Also I think its kinda weird when I see my 11 year old nephew sitting down to watch Poltergeist or Nightmare on Elm Street at 2 in the afternoon. Like thats okay but seeing a black womans (Janet Jacksons) tit on tv - oh no then thats when things are really bad, riiiight that makes sense.
