More information on the Knightsbridge medical examination?

Hello, very new here so I hope I’m posting in the right place!
im currently waiting for my application approval to arrive at the UK embassy, so I’ve got a little ways to go yet.
The wait is killing me right now, and I’m a super anxious person, but I’m extra anxious about doctors.
Can someone give me a rundown of what to expect? How undressed do I have to get? We’re they nice to you? What exactly are the blood and urine tests and X-ray for? Are there any other tests I’m unaware of? Did you bring any emotional support? How long did it take?
I guess my biggest most irrational fear is that they’re looking to specifically catch me out. I don’t think I have anything to worry about but I just can’t get this out of my mind.
any reassurance or info would be greatly appreciated. Ta!

You may schedule an appointment by telephoning 020 7486 7822 Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You must quote your case number (begins with the first three letters of the post – London is LND) when making your call. Appointments are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.

Your blood, urine, x-ray are to show that you don't have TB, a sexual disease, etc. You get completed undressed with the exception of your underwear.

You can also read the experiences of others who recently have had the exam if you search the same forum.

No, not all visa types. If a child is getting a visa that requires a medical (such as immigrant visa), then yes, the kid is included.

Hi, i posted the below in another thread which details my experiences.

Medical & Interview

· Booking my medical and interview was easy. I called the medical and they were nice and friendly on the phone. I changed the appointed a few times to align it to my interview with no problems.

· Booked my interview online, was easy. I live in Scotland so booked my medical on a Wednesday and Interview for the Thursday which was fine.

· Getting to the medical was fine. Easy to find.

§ Arrived 10 mins early and it was quiet ( was the 2nd January so that’s maybe got something to do with it) filled out the forms (basic medical history and a few tick boxes) & gave a urine sample.

§ Got a chest x-ray then back to the waiting room/

§ Went through my medical records and vaccination history then back to waiting room.

· Check this before you go as I had to get vaccinations on the day at an additional cost (c£30 each) but these are probably free on nhs. This was fine for me as didn’t want any other delays.

§ The doctor then called me – took blood pressure, eye sight test and listened to heart and breathing.

· All staff friendly and the whole process took roughly one hour – there was a waiting room and my family were able to come in and wait with me.
