It doesnt state on how many poles...just one may not be flown higher than any other. This means that if you only have one pole then only one flag may be flown...and that can be any flag of any sovereign nation.

Simply put no tin pot local law that attempted to make it illegal to fly another nations flag on private property would ever stand up in a federal court.

basically my rule of thumb is thus......

I will treat the US Flag as I would like the Union Jack to be treated.

However I do reserve the right to display the Union Jack as I see fit in an appropriate manner.

and no xenophobic rules or laws will change that.

here in NY everyday I see one flag pole with the US flag on top, the state flag under that and the park flag under that one.
