So after months of back and forth emails, negotiations, counter offers and heart ache. We have finally agreed terms and will be moving to Montana.

Loads of great help from people on here which was great, and i'm sure that there will be plenty move required as the date get closer and things come up.

We are currently waiting on the work visa for myself then we can go.

Very excited but very apprehensive at the same time the last month has been a roller coaster of emotion. We took a trip out to Montana two weeks ago to look round the area, place of work and housing.

One major thing is that our daughter has decided that she doesn't want to come with us and is pursuing university in the UK.

Good to hear you had a recce trip. IMO, that's essential.

Awww, you'll miss her. Hope she can visit you now & again. And since IIRC this is a short-term US assignment, you should be back in the same country in a few years.

For sure I will keep you updated, the reece trip was a great idea and provided us with a good but short overview of the area and property available.

We have decided to rent in the US for the time being although quite expensive I think it's the right thing to do. We will rent out UK property out to ensure if things don't go well we have something to return too.

Yes we will certainly miss our daughter but as you say cheap holidays and opportunities for her to visit will be welcome.
