Mobile Phones In The UK
I will be going back to the UK on a vacation and am wondering what is the best and cheapest way to get a mobile phone over there. Preferably one that I will also be able to call back to the states on. Any help would be appreciated.

Asda and Tesco now do their own PAYG networks, which is as cheap as you will find. They do cheap handsets as well. Not sure about International calling, sorry.

I can receive but not make international calls with my UK PAYG phone.

I can receive but not make international calls with my UK PAYG phone. I send texts instead and ask the person to call me.

Virgin is the way to go. Can both call/receive international calls, and it's very cheap (I think 10 - 20p a minute).

I may be being lazy and prob could easily look it up on the net but do you know if Virgin offers a sim card ... I have an unlocked GSM dual sim card phone and I was looking for the cheapest pay as you go plan to get (using their sim card) as Im only going to be there for 2 weeks.

Just went over to UK last week, got a friend to lend me an old phone and slapped a tmobile sim in it - worked a charm, made a few international calls but not many.
25 pounds lasted me a week of calling texts and moderate internet use.
