Moans and Groans Part 1
Hi to everyone, I've recently joined
Well, read through some of the threads and thought I'd jump right in
Rather than add to ongoing theads, thought I'd start a new one.
It seems there is a lot said about us Moaning and Groaning, but, as a Brit, I am a Moaner and Groaner and PROUD OF IT
I was taught by my mum, and it was probably handed down from her mum.
Many of us (who will admit it) LOVE to moan and groan. I truely believe it is our RIGHT as Englishmen to moan and groan or American translation Rant and Rave
If I didn't moan and groan I don't know what I'd do !!
I could find plenty to moan and groan about in the UK and I have also found plenty to moan and groan about in the USA.
The difference I've found is that in America, most are allergic to Moaners and Groaners. They have been brought up to be around ONLY positive people, so, you have to learn to adjust or become a CLOSET moaner and groaner.
I MISS being able to openly Moan and Groan with people
This is all said 1/2 jokingly and 1/2 seriously.
Some of the things that are put with by Americans would cause riots in England !
Even though we both speak English (well, most of us) there is a World of difference between us.
One day I hope that we can all Moan and Groan freely without fear of persecution
Feel free to moan in your response
Elaine

He agreed and had his first shot shortly after we married this summer. Things were going well....the vaccination seemed to take....no signs of the dreaded M&G flu. Then it happened into his 3rd week of work at his new job this past November. He came into contact with a client at his workplace that was carrying a different strain of M&G.
Of course, he caught it. I took him to a specialist and was told that there is no real cure for M&G. You can only treat the symptoms and make the best of it. The specialist said that although I would probably never get full-blown M&G, I will still always exhibit some minor symptoms of the dreaded disease. Luckily, there are no children in our future because I could be a carrier!

When DH came over, I told him he had to get a yearly M&G shot along with his flu shot. I told him I couldn't live w/someone that had it, I might catch it and infect my coworkers.

Volunteer him to a medical research group. He can be a guinea pig M&G patient, who knows he may be the first one cured........

So I left my cell phone on the toilet roll dispenser in the men's toilets at work. That was mistake #2.
Mistake #1 was using the loo downstairs in the factory.
Not that there's anything wrong with the factory toilets - the graffiti has bad spelling, but apart from that a bog, is a bog, is a bog. As they say. Its some of the retards who they employ there.
After an hour I suddenly realise its gone missing and start re-tracing steps and go have a look if its still there. Nope.
Back upstairs and start to call the number to see if the nice person who picked it up would return it. Ring - busy. Ring - busy.
Turns out they were using it to do God knows what and even sent my OH an X-rated text message. Should have just let that one play out and see if I got laid, but no.
So, one frozen cell phone later and can't wait to see the next bill.
Grumble, grumble, gripe, gripe.

Huge line in the Post Office today with one clerk on duty (at the far end of the room), lots of chatting and laughter coming form the backroom. One person muttered into a cellphone about it but we all stood there dutifully waiting to be called - I used to think it was just the British who loved to queue!
