Default Minimum advance purchase for cheap flights to UK?

Hi,
Need to fly to the UK from USA in the very near future, but still not sure of exact date. What's the latest you can leave booking before the fare skyrockets? Any airlines better than others? BA looks like it's 7 days then it almost doubles.
TIA

The longer you leave it.....the more the fare goes up.

Good point, though any knowledge of airlines with open policies would be welcome. Chicago - London?

Well, that narrows it down to either of the following....if you wish to fly non-stop;

British Airways
American Airlines
United

You would have to be incredibly lucky to get a "Standy" on any of these.

I found THIS WEBSITE which only does domestic flights right now, but has plans for international in the near future. It will be interesting to see if it really works.
