Thank you all for your replies. Our publix doesn't sell it but I'm going into Orlando next week so have a look in world market, Safeway and publix there.
Mince pies are about the only Christmas food I can't live without.
Merry Christmas

If you have a Harris Teeter near you then try there. I got a big jar of Robertson's mincemeat at one close to me. You can get stuff from a company called Nonesuch in places like Walmart but I find it disgusting.

if you are going to be here in Orlando next week, on US27 just south of I4 there is a place called the proper pie company, its a locally owned business that run by a guy from London, that's where I got mine this year.

The Robinsons stuff is sold in most grocery stores. It's okay stuff but a bit pricey for what it is, till after Christmas.

We had a fake Christmas when I was back at the end of November, only problem was it was the day after a big night out. The brandy butter on my mince pie pushed me over the edge and made me sick. Needless to say I'll not be having any more mince pies for a while

Neither in SC sell it (but WM does have ready made ones  ). Will keep looking as I do miss them. Did buy the Christmas pud from WM though as it was very good (but that might have been the added spirit :D )

Re: mince pies

I made some this year, using Delia's recipe: http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/m...mincemeat.html. It looks complicated but was actually really easy, as the instructions are largely to chuck everything in a bowl and leave it overnight, then chuck it in the oven for several hours; it practically prepares itself.

Most jar mincemeats can be vastly improved if you consider them as more a base sauce, and add grated apple, a splash of lemon juice, more dried fruit, some chopped nuts to give a bit of bite, and a generous slosh of alcohol. Leave it all to mingle for a few hours, then use.

We went there when we were on holiday down there last year - he makes some great stuff!
