I'm just interested to know why some people are so sure that they can take one persons side over another in a family argument when ultimately we'll never know for sure (and who was it who went to the media in the first place?).

I think that it was easy to villanize him because (by the time we knew about any of this) he had moved on and was with a new partner.

1. Terry Schiavo - still dead
2. The whole thing - still a tragedy
3. The parents - still dicks
4. The husband - still smelling of roses
5. Bill O'Reilly - still a knobend
Maybe we should move on to the next tragedy

It does seem like it's dragging on,the poor woman is dead and gone, but at the same time I do feel quite bad for him,it seems like his name was dragged through the dirt, but from what I understand,he did stand by Terri....personally I think he did the right thing...it wasn't fair to her to keep her going, when, for all intents and purposes, she was dead already.
Who had the right to make decisions for Terri?,surely it was her husband, not her parents, when you marry doesn't your spouse become your 'next of kin'?
As some of you may know,I did spend two weeks in a coma, and my husband was told that if I ever came out of it I would be a veggie, obviously I was incredibly lucky....from what I've heard the doctors told Terri's family that there was no hope of recovery...they don't just say that in passing, they would've run every test they could think of,she would've been a pin-cushion....I felt SO sorry for her every time they showed her story on tv....it was cruel to force her to exist in that condition.
This is my opinion, from my own experience....the problem is that even if you legally put your wishes in writing they can still be contested...it's the perverbial 'rock and a hard place',my husband knows that if anything happens again, I absolutely do not want to be kept alive by machines,....touch wood nothing else will happen!......Sophia
