Medieval Food
 
Hi all
Ive been asked to set up a food stand based on Medieval times in England. What food to cook though? Im good at turkey legs, but what other ideas do you lot have? Ill be using a grill BTW.

Yes, but not Instant Gruel. You'll need to make it from scratch.

Thanks, the grilled apple/ pork kebab sounds good. Dont think the septics will go gruel etc though.........

how about a nice and easy big pan of pottage aka soup to put on your grill ;)

almost every home had a veg garden and so pottage was a common meal to which they added meat if they were so fortunate!

I have a medieaval cook book. I will scan some pages in and mail them to you. For true authenticity the meat shouyld be "off".

Are we talking upper classes or the unwashed masses? I'm no expert,( As Fatbrit kindly pointed out:p) but I bet there was a difference!

What do yopu lot think of British Bangers in a hot dog bun? Maybe with onions? Remember its all got to be done on a grill
