Is there any mother out there who knows if you can get Calpol out in the states as my 3 year old will be joining my husband and I and I swear by the stuff when my child is ill, or is there an american alternative SILLY I know!

Calpol is paracetamol. The equivalent to paracetamol here in the US is Acetaminophen. Acetominophen trade name is tylenol. Here is a link to the types of Tylenol you can get for children.

Dont know about mothers, but theres a dad here that knows - do I count We haven't been able to get Calpol in Texas - there are a few local alternatives that I'm sure are just as good, but I normally bring a bottle or 2 back with me when we visit the UK because the kids "like" it.

I agree with the others tylanol is the next best thing to Calpol and they also have motrin that is just as good.

I use Infant Tylenol for my daughter too... seems to work just fine. I really like the dropper thingy... Emily has an issue with taking meds from a spoon.

The other thing you can't get here is beechams flu drinks.... The US versions are useless... I usually bring a few boxes of those sachets back with us to kill of any flu over the winter. Don't even bother with 'thera-flu' or whatever it is....
