Well, me and the hubby went to the INS office yesterday morning to ask a Q or two. I came into the US on a K1 visa, and I didn't know whether I needed to get another medical done or not (I have my AOS interview in a month). SO we figured best thing to do was to go in and ask them. The lady said I didn't need another medical since I came in on a K1, but if I hadn't come in on a K1 I would've had to get it done again if it was more than a year old. SO we saved ourselves $75!! We have been waiting for about a year and a half for the AOS interview and now it's finally here, I'm just running about like a headless chicken trying to get all our paperwork in order!

ANYWAY the worst thing about our trip to the office was a lady attorney. She was obviously specialising in immigration but when she got to the window, the officer told her that she had filed the wrong paperwork. She had paperwork for a couple who had entered on a K1, but filed I-130 for them instead of I-485. The officer told her it was the wrong paperwork, to which she replied in front of the whole room, 'OH I've never dealt with someone who came in on a K1 before so I don't really know what I'm doing'!!!!!! I felt like going up to her and getting the phone # of the poor couple to warn them!

Me and the hubby thought about getting help from a lawyer or something, but we decided to do it ourselves. I'm kinda glad now!!! Not knocking you legal peeps out there ;) Just the one in Charleston we encountered yesterday morning!
