Marrying After Obtaining DV Green Card

Marrying After Obtaining DV Green Card
I expect to get the green card through the dv2003 programme. Both me and my girlfriend are currently in the US on h1b visas. Since we don't want to get married just to get her a green card, what options do we have if marrying after I become a permanent? Is the only option to wait 5 years or so for the numbers to become current? Are there any permits or such that would allow her to join me in the US (assuming she goes home for awhile) if we get married after I obtain the green card?

She can enter or stay in the U.S. in a status for which she is independently
eligible, like H-1B.

Other than qualifying on her own for a status, yes, it is the only option.
