Marmite Bargain

I was trailing round the local Tesco today, and spotted 500 gram Marmite jars for £1.

So any marmite fans might want to get their relatives in the UK to stock up for them or send a red cross parcel :D

Bovril isn't that bad, similar to oxo cubes if you put it in beef stew :)

You can get the kelp granules in the natural food store. :)

"Why" is between you and your maker....

Screamin' deal on the Marmite though.

To be honest, it's the first I had heard of Kelp granules.
The photo was taken in a Portuguese grocery store in 'Half Moon Bay, Ca'.

Cute! I haven't been there in ages...

The kelp grans are Good For You(tm).. a source of iodine which is good if you've been using sea salt, plus other minerals. V popular with the vegetarians. I think people put it on popcorn but maybe I'm mixing that up with brewer's yeast. Just wondered what relevance it had to the Brit grocery section!

But back to your original thread topic, now in progress. :)

I'm finding the Iodine thing more interesting, TBH. It was never anything I worried about, in the old country*, but now I'm starting to wonder whether I'm getting Iodine or not. Guess I'll have to devote some thinking time to it.

* Well, I was bound to call it that sooner or later so best to get it out of the way.
