....and like banned from driving for 2 years will make a difference, he was driving illegally on a provisional licence with 8 points on it!!

That's ridiculous! I had my foot ran over in '93 and ended up with a cracked big toe.... got £750 compensation.

I wouldn't betting that if it was the judge/magistrate that had had his foot ripped off the guy would've got a much tougher sentence and there would also be a lot more zero's on the end of that compensation check.
One rule for one and one rule for another, glad to be out of it!!!

I can bet if he's not arsed about driving on a provisional license he's probably not got insurance either.
So where do you think this $1,000,000 is gonna come from?
Even if it was the USA, most people aren't insured over say $250,000 in bodily injury.

Whether he qualifies or not as a Lawyer he should pay compensation to that guy for the rest of his working life. The punishment is an absolute joke in fact just downright pitifull. I hope Cherie was not defending him. Sounds like her sort of case.
