When he remarried it made any previous wills null and void. You have already stated he has since made a new will...so if you are not named in the new will you will not get anything.

No it didn't!

Making a new will was what made the previous ones null and void.

Thanks to all those posters who have given useful advice. Your help is very much appreciated. To those naughty! expats who have nothing better to do but nose around other peoples stuff and, when all said and done, be pretty useless (You know who you are) you're best off where you are.

Depends on the jurisdiction! - in some places, marriage renders a will null and void unless the will contains wording that contemplates the marriage.

IM9907620 is correct in pointing out that you really ought to get separate Wills for both countries. Each State in the US has different rules concerning Wills so be sure to take sound legal advice for whichever jurisdiction you are in.

Ian - be aware that the 'no contest' clause may not be enforceable i.e., it is not legally enforceable in Florida.
