Making the Move With Teens & Tweens

If you have children in the teen/tween phase, I am curious to hear from you about your reasons for making the UK>US move, and how you think it has impacted your kids -- positively and negatively. How does the school situation compare? How do you feel the move has affected them personally, emotionally, etc.? Are they going to be going to university in the States, and if so, how do you feel about that?

Can you be more specific about the state that you are headed to? Try thinking of the US in terms of the EU, for example, Calfornia could be compared to Scandinavia, Washington state to Belgium and Florida is what happens when you cross Bournemouth with the Costa Del Sol. All of which, just like differing EU states, have different standards of education, so my tales of the Florida education system will have zero relevance if you intend to move to a state that values education.

If you look at the OP's earlier posts he returned to the UK in 2010 and has been thinking of moving back to the US ever since.

I do not believe he has any specific state in mind - just looking for other people's experiences.
