Lightbulb Mailing X-Mas cards?

I'm trying to find out the last date you can mail them by! (US to UK)

Royal Mail Dates are as follows!

Airmail

Destination Last posting dates before Christmas

Western Europe Monday 15 December 2003

Eastern Europe Friday 12 December 2003

Canada, USA and Japan Friday 12 December 2003

Outside Europe except Canada, USA and Japan Monday 8 December 2003

Surface Mail

As a cost-effective way to send gifts or small packets to Europe and worldwide, Surface Mail can't be beaten. But it pays to plan ahead.

Destination Last posting dates before Christmas

All destinations outside Europe, except Canada, Far East, Middle East, Hong Kong, South Africa and USA Thursday 2 October 2003

Far East and Middle East Thursday 16 October 2003

Canada, Hong Kong, South Africa and USA Thursday 30 October 2003

Cyprus, Greece, Iceland, Malta and Turkey Wednesday 26 November 2003

Eastern Europe Wednesday 26 November 2003

Western Europe except Cyprus, Greece, Iceland, Malta and Turkey Wednesday 3 December 2003

OOOOH, thanks Brigie, I've been packing a parcel today to send by surface mail, and was worried how long it takes. I hope the dates are similar for sending to the UK. It defo saves to plan ahead!!

I've decided to do away with xmas cards this year, instead I'm writing everyone a letter ( I usually end up doing this on the inside of the card anyways) I've got some computer stationary, nice paper n things and I'm going to compose a letter and print loads out and send. Yeah I know its lazy but since an errm riding accident in the summer my hand gets cramps and my writing goes to pot !

Thanks for the mailing times Bridgie .. i'll have to add a few days to that though, it takes ages to get out of Michigan for some reason.

It's usually around the 10-12th of Dec for airmail. Surface mail takes approx 6 weeks to get there. And with the amount of cards most of us sends it's worth me getting my act together and mailing all the UK parcels and cards by surface mail this year. I spent nearly $200 on postage last Christmas using airmail!
