Question love to move to usa from uk but how???

Hi, my husband and I would love to move to the USA from the UK but cannot seem to find anyway of doing it apart from buying a bar. My husband is a bricklayer and I work in a shop.

Has anybody got any ideas??

Why does it have to be a bar? Why not by something in the line you are in shops? I have looked at all different routes and the easiest route is to buy some kind of business which an investment of $100k is needed. I am a Quantity Surveyor and I have spoken to lots of other Quantity Surveyors on here and know a couple who all live in the USA, who got there on H1B visas, however they all either knew someone who got them job offers or wifes got jobs and they moved with them enabling them to get work once they were there, as it is very difficult to get a job and someone to sponsor you whilst here in UK(assuming you are).

It has taken us nearly 1year to get to the position we are in and are now looking for that right business, and where we want it, we intend being in California before the year ends.

Good Luck!

hi
Do you know that if I bought a business would my husband have to work there or could he find a job some where else?

If you bought a business, the business must be roughly worth $100k and be owned or at least in the process of signing over to you when you apply for your E2visa, and you were going to manage and run it (on paper anyway) you must either own it outright or own 50% or more, once you are there your husband can apply for a work permit and then get a job doing whatever he wants.

The E2 visa enables you to stay there as long as the business is solvent.

Are there really people who decide they want to live in the States based on a visit to Disneyland (or is it Dworld, I can never remember which is which)? What is it about seeing a replica of a Bavarian castle and an oversized plastic mouse that makes people say, "ah, I wish I could move here".
