Well that took the decision out of your hands, so no second guessing yourself as to should you have gone or not. Find a way to honour your mum and say goodbye in a way that is meaningful to you and will bring back good memories. Perhaps a tree or plant in your yard if you like gardening.

Just so you know how childish all this is...
Every communication is through Facebook messages.
Yesterday I was told that there is difficulty getting confirmation of when the funeral will be, but they were told it 'should be' on Wednesday. Not enough information to risk a $5k investment, I think you would agree.
In response to this morning's message, I said it would be impossible for me to get there and I would mourn in my own way, the reply was a simple 'Scroll up' and a blocking of any more messages!
I'm done with dealing with people who obviously have made up their minds I'm the bad one. I no longer have to deal with them, thank goodness, and I'll get on with my own life with a hole in my heart and miss my niece and nephew growing up.
I tried patching things up too many times.
It's been a difficult, sad day here today.

My sister lost a mom this week and my mom lost a daughter. If only people realized life is too short.
