Lost EAD
Anyone have any ideas about the following?
My husband applied for an EAD last year and received a receipt confirming approval in august, but we never got the actual card, I guess it was lost in the post. Hes been looking for work since, and finally has a job starting in a week, but has only just remembered he doesnt have the card, just the receipt. We have applied for a replacement, but will the original receipt suffice on form I-9 until the replacement arrives?
thanks!

Re: Lost EAD
Thanks.
But the I-9 says " if the employee is unable to present a required document, the employee must present an acceptable receipt.....Receipts showing that a person has applied for an initial grant of employment authorization, or renewal of employment authorization, are not acceptable"
In this case we have a receipt for acceptance (not applicant, or renewal) so shouldnt this do until the card arrives?
