los of citizenship
Sorry if this is posted to the wrong section...I was wondering if someone knows the answer to my question. I have dual citizenship in the U.S.A. and U.K. I acquired my U.K. citizenship through marriage. Now we are divorced after 14 years and my ex husband has told our children I will lose my U.K. citizenship if I don't return to live in the country within seven years. I lived in the U.K. for more than eight years during our marriage. It was my understanding that you couldn't lose your citizenship involuntarily? I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me more about this if they know? Thanks.
