a little advice

:)Hi everyone, just a bit of advice needed. We are moving to dallas soon and are in the process of getting our things together to be packed and shipped. We at first had decided to get rid of all our electric stuff as we knew it will not be compatible, but recently a lot friends have suggested that we should check what we can take as in this day and age converting through adapters should not be a problem. What do you all think? What is realistically a better idea? is it worth it? What about PC, is that worth bringing or should we buy all electrics new?

Compare shipping costs versus buying new

It's normally not worth bringing electronic items to the US. Try the search option at the top of the page...there's been several threads on this very subject recently.

check the wiki...fair bit of advice on it.

the PC will probably be okay, flip the switch at the back to flip the voltage.

wouldn't bother with most stuff unless it's brand new or highend gear because of the hassle of having honky large transformers, sure you can get smaller cheaper one's, but they don't half get hot and are a bit crap, and cost of the good one's isn't worth it if what your bringing over is a toaster etc.
