A woman, of course 
, started this list a few years back and it now grown into a nationwide list of plumbers, electricians, painters, etc. with reputation and comments gleamed from those that have actually hired them.

NB if you want to do any searching.. you must join, and you must include a street/mailing addy. And you can expect multiple mailings from them.
Haven't hired anyone from there, but a property manager pal of mine likes them.
