Re: The likelihood of actually being granted a Visa
It might take more than that. I don't recall exactly now, but I probably sent a couple of dozen messages over a couple of months, and got four responses, one of which petered out quickly, another two slowly, ..... and one that never did peter out.
BTW I don't know pof.com - is it a "serious" site, or more for hook-ups? The "big three" sites at the moment appear to be chemistry.com, match.com, and harmony.com, though I must stress my knowledge is entirely confined to an awareness of their TV ads.

Nearly all of the dating sites are owned by only a couple of different companies

The one Mrs P and I used was one of a portfolio of seven "theme" sites under common ownership, IIRC. The then future Mrs P did experience one disturbing approach that had bled through from one of the other sites.

I now favour www.cougared.com.

I had a go on eHarmony.com once and after filling out all the questions (which takes forever ), it said I wasn't the type of person they could help. Nice

What about MoneyPenny's favourite: clowndating.com?

Trying to meet someone online in another country seems a bit risky to me. America's a long way to come to meet the Mila Kunis lookalike you were expecting, only to be greeted off the plane by Ten Ton Tesse!

Yeah, like on Catfish. Have these people never heard of Skype/FaceTime?
