Life on Mars
Can anyone tell me the last time the main American TV channels (ABC, NBC CBS) showed the original British version of anything? They always seem to have to have their own version. Kinda pees me off. Life on Mars is the latest example. I know it works the other way too but there are at least some US shows over there that we haven't felt the need to change.

Apparently Sam's mother in the US version goes by the name of..
Rose Tyler
Looks they might be influenced by another British time travel show.

NBC are going to be showing the BBC version of Merlin soon. Apart from that, you'd have to go back to something like The Muppet Show (yes, it's technically a British show).

I think the US Networks feel that US audiences won't watch foreign stuff (too insular).
And another thing, I really like Harvey Keitel but he isn't right for Gene he's too much of a hard man and not enough of a character.
The Irish guy was okay as the lead though.

Re: Life on Mars
I'm 60 and they have a better price
Its 15.95 pounds about $27 a month.
I look at it from the point of view that if i was in UK
I'd have to pay 139.50 pounds for a tv licence to
watch UK tv .... and for 52 pounds more I can
watch it overseas.

For about $79 I bought a multi-regional DVD player. If anything looks good, I just buy it from Amazon.co.uk or Ebay and have them shipped over. Still works out cheaper.
