Leaving MA to PA/NJ
 

Well after 18 months in Mass. we are on the move to Bucks County, PA. New job will be in Princeton, NJ.

Kids and wife are looking forward to hotel living and not having to keep the house tidy for the constant stream of buyers wanting to see the house, and also having to go out when they come ! especially as my wife is currently on crutches !!!

Any recommendations of places to visit and places to get english supplies would be appreciated from anyone in the area.

Hi,
We live in Northhampton County not far from where you're going. I have been here for 3 months. I came over from Scotland and I am married to a US Citizen.

You can get some English supplies here, but they are limited. There is a supermarket chain called Wegmans that sell some British food. For example Heinz tomato soup, Heinz baked beans, HP sauce and Patak curry sauces in a jar (Yummy) to name but a few. In the city of Bethlehem in Main Street there is a Celtic Store that sells British foods at the back. They have many favourite UK biscuits + UK chocolate and even polo mints. I also found Ambrosia tinned custard and Branston pickle. They are of course not cheap, but as a treat definitely worth it.

There are many places of interest to visit in PA. Bethlehem is a cool place, very historic. The Pocono Mountains, Philadelphia, Jim Thorpe where America's greatest athlete lived are all a good bet and as you have kids, there is an amusement and wildwater park called Dorney Park near Allentown that should be fun. And of course you're only a 90 minute drive from New York.
