Default Learning to drive in Florida....

Hi guys

So who has learned from scratch, and what did it involve?

Who did you use, how long did it take, and how much $$$$$ was it!

Curiously

Your kidding right? Floridians don't learnt to drive, they assume they know how to from birth.
Hell, (yes I said HELL) I didn't even get out of the shopping mall car park and onto the main roads when I took my test.

Well!! I have to agre with "Excpomea" They learn in school here..
There are a few driving schools though..test cost $20... you do an eye test..then a theory test on a computer with multiple choice questions.... then the road test.. a good five minutes...get a copy of the highway code from any driving test centre free..and study it... after you pass forget all you read...

Not sure if Florida has the same thing but here in Michigan the secretary of state office has a web site with all the info on what is needed for driving, the tests and the laws of the road etc. Might be worth looking up.

By the way (again this is in Michigan) if you are an adult looking for a driving school you are likely to pay a lot more to learn to drive because most people learn as kids in school. The cost for me was $310 for 6 hours of on road driving (taken in 2 hourly segments) then another $45 for the road test (which I took in our car other wise it would have been another $60 on top of the $45 for use of their car)
