Lake Nona
Hi Everyone,
New member to the forum, I was wondering if there were any other Brits living in the Lake Nona area? Due to move to Orlando from London late August and like the look of Lake Nona, just wondered what everyone's experiences of it are (Schools, general living etc.). Have two kids that will be going in to Elementary and Middle school, hopefully the adjustment won't be too bad! Any other advice is gladly welcomed

I live a couple of miles south of Lake Nona.
Lake Nona is great. It has good access points into Orlando and there is a good selection of restaurants and shops.
I almost purchased a home there, but decided to buy in St. Cloud. The deciding factor was that for a 5 min drive south, I could buy the exact same home for around 8% cheaper and as I was then in Osceola County and not Orange, the taxes were less. The community was gated too (virtually irrelevant).
I have 2 kids who are now 13 & 11. They’ve spent the past 5 years at school here going to Narcoossee Elementary and Middle. I think these schools have been great and both my kids have excelled here. It’s impossible to know how things would have worked out had I stayed in the UK, but I have no regrets moving here.
