Default L2 Visa - part time MBA question

My wife is applying to University of Connecticut for admission to a part time MBA course. They have stated that they do not believe you are allowed to study part time on an L2 Visa - only full time study is allowed. I am currently awaiting for them to clarify and get back to me.

I can't find anything on the USCIS website that says only full time studying is allowed on an L2, not part time.

Can anyone here advise?

They probably don't see many L2 visas and someone is assuming that the rules are the same for L2 as for an F1 visa (which *does* require full time) - with any luck they will figure it out when someone who actually knows what they are doing gets back to work after the holidays.

Thank you both. Yes that is what I was hoping, that the staff covering the holiday period were just unsure of Visa types. They have emailed me just now to say they will clarify and respond when the MBA staff returns on 3rd January.
