Default L1 visa - unemployment benefit?

My company is going through lay-offs and my L1 visa will obviously be over when my employment ends.
I've been thinking about getting a Business Vistor visa and wondered if I can claim unemployment given I've paid SS for over 3 years.
Cheers.
