Kerry's war record- interesting info
Since John Kerry is running on a "War Hero" platform, he has opened up the issue of his actual conduct/service record while in Vietnam. Here's a link to fellow Swift Boat commanders/crew who served with Kerry during his 4 months of duty in Vietnam. Most seem to have a much different opinion of him than the group of vets traveling with Kerry on the campaign trail.

http://www.swiftvets.com/ These guys have already been discredited - they ran an advert recently that everyone including the GOP distanced themselves from. Turns out this gang of vets are being bankrolled by some rabid southern right-winger.... http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/nation...20Kerry%20Book |

I can understand someone not wanting to support Kerry because you dont share his views (personally I find him a little right wing for my taste) but what the hell is wrong with people that they have to try to drag down his war record?
Get over it. You dont support him and wont vote for him, fine, its your right(until Ashcroft gets round to removing it anyway). But does it hurt that much to admit he served his country with honor and bravery in a war zone? I dont support Bush because i dont like his policies, the fact that as a young man he skived off going to Vietnam and was an alcoholic coke fiend is not the reason I wouldnt support him. ;) |
Re: Kerry's war record- interesting info
The Daily show piece was spot on. The people who bankrolled this ad, were the same people who tried to smear John McCain in 2000, when they cold called people in North Carolina telling them that McCain had a black baby. McCain went on to lose that primary. McCain must shudder everytime he has to endorse Bush for re-election.

If Kerry had a record to judge him by, one might be able to use that in trying to figure out what he stands for. Alas, his record is like that of too may pols- whichever way the wind blows at the time, he supports. Much in the website given points to the same thing- the only thing Kerry supports is HIMSELF. Which one can also say about Bush, unfortunately. The choices for President that I am presented with this year thoroughly disgust me.

Being a politician is a pretty hard job and often involves taking into account the views of constituents in making your own decisions. If he didnt then you would whinge he is an elitist who doesnt listen to the people. Instead he is flip flopper who blows with his constituents views. He or any other pol just cant win. Its so easy to complain about politicians but you go try doing it and see how easy it is to keep twats like you happy whilst holding to your own conscience. |
