Note: I am posting this for my UK finace, who can't access this site for a few days. Because of that, the "I" below refers to him, the UKC, not me, the USC with the computer access tonight. Thanks!!

I am confused about some details of my K1 visa. Any help would be appreciated.

1. I have received the forms to fill out, but they have contrary information on them. On the form IV-15 it says to send no documents with the forms and lists all the forms to include, but on the form OF-156K, it states you should include the documents with that form. Should I send the form with photocopies of the relevant documents, or not send any at this time and take them to the interview instead?

2. I am unsure how many copies of the visa application forms I am required to send. I assumed it was just one, but reading it, it is not totally clear. It seems I also have to take some copies down with me when I get my interview. Can anyone clarify this point?

3. I am also unsure about some of the documents mentioned. On the form IV-15 it mentions a form DS-2000 "Public Charge Evidence" and the form I-134 "Affidavit of Support" (which I have and know what it is) at the bottom of the form under a bit which says enclosures. Do I need to send in these forms with my application or do I just need to take them to my interview? If anyone could tell me what the form DS-2000 is I would be most grateful as well.

4. Do I need to include pages 3 + 4 of the OF-156 when I send in the forms? Page 3 has a check list (some of which does not apply to a fiance visa as far as I can tell) and page 4 is only info. My guess is that I don't need to send them in, but I am not sure.

5. Finally, do I really need to wait until I have my police certificate and birth certificate in hand before I send in my forms? I suspect the answer is no, but again I am not totally sure.

It is a minefield, this applying for a visa lark. I am almost tearing my hair out cause it is so frustrating. If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

Huh? I don't get it. According to the last posted column, Alvena replied to this, but the reply count says O and I can't see Alvena's response. Can anyone else?

And I am sure Alvena had a great answer, too.

it shows up on Google. Alvena wants you to research it on the DocSteen site

See the K-1 section of the doc steen site, that info is in the section somewhere.

Thanks, Rete.

We looked at the Doc Steen site, and good as it is, it didn't answer the questions we posed.

I found copies of the forms mentioned in Question 1 on the Doc Steen site, and they do seem to contradict each other. IV-15 says don't send the documents, whereas OF-156K says they should be attached. Which is it? Don't send them or send copies?

Also, I couldn't find anything about DS-2000. Maybe I missed it, though?
