K1 : Extending I-797 Approval : question

Hello all,
Well were still waiting an interview date from th London embassy for our K1. In the meantime our approval is due to expire on the 7th July !
I have read on http://k1.exit.com/consul.html that we can get the period extended with a letter to the embassy.
So to my question ...
The sample letter quotes US law like so ...
"It is my understanding that pursuant to 9FAM 41.81 N3.1 (Period of validity), the consulate can extend the approval notice for another 4 months"
Its the "9FAM 41.81 N3.1 (Period of validity)" part thats causing some confusion, being from the UK I havnt a clue. Yvette, on the other hand recognises this somewhat but was wondering if this was a "delete as appropriate" part as the sample letter links to a
pdf file at ... http://www.foia.state.gov/masterdocs/09fam/0941081N.pdf which quotes more than one article of law.

Simply ...
1) What do we put here in the letter ... leave it as it is, or somethin else ?

2) And what goes in as "Period of validity"

Thanks for any help received in advance,

Rob.

I also would like to know since I need to have my NOA extended as well.

It has already expired will that be a problem in getting it extended?

If it needs to be extended, the consulate should already realize this and doesn't
need to be quoted the law.

Re: K1 : Extending I-797 Approval : question

The problem I have is that the petition approval expired about a month and half after the visa was granted, but my fiance is not coming to the U.S. until Sept (appr. 5 months into the visa) Therefore the petition has expired and the visa is still good.

So the Embassy would not have noticed this. We did not know at the time of interview that this could become a problem or we would have had him extend it anyway.

Any suggestions would be helpful.
