I recieved the k1/k2 yesterday. On one of the forms that were filled in for the process it asked the date of intending travel and also a wedding date. I also got asked yesterday (friday) when i intended to marry and i said October (i had put this on the forms as well) anyway due to one reason or another i may not be able to travel and marry in October. Is this going to be a problem at the port of entry with the INS if i travelled at the beginning of November instead?
Thanks

Hi,
Well done on getting the visa - and just a day after me and at the same place too
The simple answer is "It's not a problem".
The requirement is that we use our "valid for one entry to the USA" K-1 visa within 6 months.
Look half way down the visa. The line that starts "Entries" that has a "1" under it... You will see along the line there is an issue date and an expiry date. Just get yourself into the USA before the expiry date is all you need to do.
The date thing on the forms is to help the embassy schedule the interview in time and the questioning is (I am sure) to make sure the stories all line up. Did you get the lecture from the guy behind the desk (which guy was it? The younger one (he seemed in his 20's) or the one in his 30's or was it the one in his 40's)? You know the stuff they say: "You have six months to enter the USA and then once in, 90 days to get married", because it's THAT which you need to do, not worry about October or November or December...
Let me guess... You have to be in the US before April 4th 2002... Yes?
hahahahahahaha... let yourself laugh, you got the visa
Well done again.
Brian.

We had the older guy... The one in his 40's.

>If possible please could you forward me a copy?
You have an email with a scan of the IV19A note on its way to you right now.
