K-1 and EAD

Is it mandatory for POE's to stamp my passport for work authorization when entering on a K-1. If not, what do criteria do the look at when deciding whether or not to stamp you? How often do people get refused?

Thanks.

BTW My POE will be Toronto airport if I fly or Detroit-Windsor tunnel if I drive.

It is not mandatory for the POE to give the EAD stamp. It is not an individual
decesion per person so there is no refusal. Very few POE's give out the EAD so you
have research which ones will.

Dennis I crossed at the Ambassador Bridge in July. I asked for the EAD stamp and
received it no problem. Bonnie
