Just when you thought the world couldn't get more crazy
Just when you thought the world couldn't get more crazy someone comes up with a whole new kind of crazy.
A man from Baton Rouge is taking the game of chess to court because he claims it is racist. Because the white pieces always move first it shows whites are above blacks and because the black pieces move second they are always on the defensive.
He says
"Chess pits black against white and white against black. Has no one noticed the underlying prejudice to this supposed game? Chess was invented by white supremacists, why else does white have the first move?!
It is an outrage that our minority children are being taught to revere this hideous activity. We claim that chess teaches self-discipline and strategy. Perhaps, but the true lessons are too evil to ignore! They are being taught that, as blacks, they will never have an advantage, and that they will have to fight the white man all of their lives. "
He wants all the chess pieces to either be the same color or all be different colors.
Bush wanting Constitutional amendments to stop people who love each other getting married, a film about a jew being beaten, tortured and murdered being called anti-semetic and now changing the rules of a game that has been around for thousands of years because its black and white!
Lord give me a break! The worlds gone crazy I tell you, they'll be telling us next Saddam Hussein has WMD!

I have to agree with you there Patrick.
That's got to right up there with "Chalkboards" and "Baa Baa Wooly Sheep".
Btw when I was visiting my mother year before last I found a "Golly Dolly"....lol

banning chess- Not a US idea
This idea was raised first by one of the left leaning london boroughs, they wanted to ban chess from the schools as it was pitching black against white... that was several years ago.

Well I think the real issue is why there can't be two kings or two queens! Why are the pawns thrown into the lions den first? Ever noticed how much smaller they are? I believe they represent midgets...eh I mean short arses....eh small people, either way they are second class citizens. Wow this game SHOULD be banned imediately, it's racist, homophobic and prejudiced against midgets!!!
