Hi! Welcome to Vegas. I sure miss living there!!!!

You can get crackers at World Market. There is one in Silverton, Summerlin and there used to be one over near Maryland Mall (or whatever that Mall is over on E Maryland.)

You'll love all the local's deals!!! And everyone will be visiting you.

I live in Summerlin too, at least for now. It is a nice area..lots of good restaurants etc. Short drive to Red rock national park.(staight up Charleston Blvd). A few good local Casinos if you enjoy that.

We've been out to Red Rocks on a short recce and it was really beautiful. I took my little one out to Springs Preserve last weekend as well. We've not made it to the strip yet but we will at some stage. I did venture into the Red Rock Casino today to check out where the cinema was etc and was reminded at gambling is soo not my thing! And heres me moved to the gambling centre of the earth!

They have 2 Brit Pubs in Vegas that are pretty cool you may want to check them out The Crown & Anchor= ( Younger crowd ) and Mad Dogs & Englishmen authentic Pub food & Beers from Tap, It has been a couple of years since I have last been, but if memory serves me right it was quite enjoyable for the wifes UK Family when over on a visit.
Enjoy Las Vegas and the surrounding areas, Valley of fire, Moapa,Overton etc There really is so much to see and do that do not involve gambling, there are movie theaters that are not located in Casinos as well. After living in Las Vegas for a bit (several years ) I found that the further away from the clanging machines and starry eyed tourist, the better it was, so much so that I ended up in Oregon..lol..
Have a great time, there is so much to do and discover it is hard to list them all.

Loved the Valley of Fire and wished my daughter still lived there so I could visit Bryce Canyon. Red Rock Canyon is great and Summerlin is very nice area to live in. My grandson was born in the Summerlin hospital nearly 5 years ago.

Oh yeah, can't forget The Free tour of Ethel M chocolates in Henderson , I found a link for some of the 100% Free things to do, actually there is quite a bit to choose from, I used to try to keep a list for friends handy whenever they visited and did not want to do the Gambling thing for more then a couple of hours.

The Valley of fire is gorgeous I agree, Funny thing I remember when Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin, and NLV where just 4 separate little communities separated by miles of desert, ah the good old days !!

Bryce Canyon is my favorite 'natural wonder' place in the world, surpassing the Grand Canyon and everything else. Go see it in winter with snow, and again in summer. Zion is also fantastic - Yosemite in technicolor. Death Valley is also a great place to visit - catch it in spring when things bloom, and go in August when it's too hot to get out of the car - just kidding, but it's a great place to drive through and visit the eastern Sierras (Bishop, Lone Pine are cute little towns). The Hoover Dam is worth a visit too, and of course the Grand Canyon is a must-visit place (try going off season - you are close!). Sedona is a fabulous place in AZ also.

I'm driving up from Phoenix on Thursday, girlfriend is flying in from CA. We're going for a cruise on Lake Mead, and seeing a few shows.

I HATE gambling, and casinos. I've been dragged to Vegas many times and it is only in the past few years that I've discovered that you can find good restaurants and great shows, and almost ignore the clanging of the slots!

With house prices in the toilet, Las Vegas is probably a great place to buy a house right now!

I've been to Vegas many times in the last 30 years and never spent a penny gambling. As you say there's loads to see and do without gambling...but each to their own.

We very nearly bought an apartment on the strip about 5 or 6 years ago...thank goodness we didn't because the LV property market crashed. The backers of the apartment complex back out.
