No in the UK the Appeals Court, Canterbury Crown, Manchester Crown/Magistrates never got an interesting trial once I actually fell asleep once or twice

I sat on 3 Jury Trials, at Chester Crown Court, when I lived in Chester, between 1994-1996.

I was foreman once, too.

I was called for jury duty when I was 18 - I think people were astonished at my age when I showed up.

I don't see that as one of the exemptions.. unless it falls under the mental disability category

Magistrate
Solicitor
Barrister
Religious minister
MP
Member of the armed forces
Member of the medical profession (including chemist or vet)
Police or probation officer
