Default Junk Mail

Don't know if it's been mentioned before, but if you want to stop credit card companies from sending you crap, call 1-888-5-OPTOUT.

I need to find out how to stop the morons who keep sending me junk ads via our fax in the middle of the night.

Well... I used to get 50-100 spams a day. I started reporting the spammers to their ISPs through SpamCop (http://www.spamcop.net/) and suddenly I'm not receiving much spam at all any more...

That could be a coincidence, but I was quite shocked to discover that instead of my mail being 90% spam it's now more like 5% spam!

Umm.... try doing what I do to the cats in the night if they get fidgety - squirt water at it!

Hey Duncan (or anyone else)
Just wanted to ask you how using optout has worked for you.
Do you still recieve junkmail?
Anyone else sucessfully removed their names from junkmail lists? I'm interested because the amount of junkmail we're starting to get now is ridiculous. Sometimes we open junkmail and it is disguised as a bill or an invoice for a service we haven't used, or the best one yet was a junkmail sending us a cheque for $3.00 which, if we cashed it would then automatically sign us up for new credit cards. I frickin hate these people that send us junkmail, I think it should be treated as a crime, like email spam

Whenever I get junk mail, I tear it all up into little pieces and put it inside the pre-paid return envelope that comes with it - mail it back to them. It doesn't stop it from coming, but if feels really good to make them pay the postage!

Why go through the time and effort of ripping it into little pieces? Just fill their prepaid envelopes with as much of the other junk mail as you can...and I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think they have to pay the postage based on weight, so try and cram as much in the envelope as you can, and tape it shut if necessary...or just add a load of sand.

Is there something similar that will stop all these bills as well?
