Default Joizey drivers

Yesterday we were driving along a dual carriageway on the Joizey shore, when a SUV pulled out of a side road and came to a halt across the two lanes. We came to an abrupt halt...along with about 6 other cars...the other vehicle being at a 90 degree angle to us. Was this an unmarked cop ve-hic-cule setting up a road block, a heart attack victim or perhaps just a breakdown? No...it was a bloody woman who had obviously forgotten to put on her lipstick and couldn't possibly travel any further without it. Unbelievable.

I'm trying to think of a word to describe what I see everyday "Gobsmacked" is probably closest.

"Joizy driver", multiplied by "woman driver". Nuff said

When I was a kid my mum said always have clean underwear on incase you get in an accident. Maybe her mum said always make sure you have your lippy applied.

I see a lot of this as I travel around the north east

Early this morning in pouring rain on I-93 southbound I came up behind a truck, this is a supposedly profesional driver, same sized truck as mine. He was in the middle lane doing just over 65 mph, the spray was everywhere, he suddenly hit the brakes and I had to slow up thinking there was a hold up in front due to the heavy rain. After a couple of miles I saw the other lanes were flowing freely and moved to the right to see a clear lane in front of him. as I passed on the inside I saw him reading a piece of paper and using the phone as he drove at about 40 mph totally oblivious to everyone else or the chaos he was causing No wonder we get a bad name !

The company was 'Hartt' of Maine.

I agree about Joizey drivers. I have seen more accidents here in 4 years than I ever saw in 37 years in England.

On Saturday one person was killed about half a mile west of our house after going through a red light. On Sunday somebody was seriously injured about half a mile east of our house after going through a red light. I see at least one accident a week in our smallish town, most of them are.....going through a red light.

We get all the retired Joisey drivers down here....so they are crap and blind!

I could not be a traffic cop here as I'd never get more than 10 yards out of the nick before having to go back for more tickets.

I can honestly say that after having had plenty of time observing the drivers of the UK in an official capacity the standard of driving here is absolutely shite..and that includes the cops.

I've seen sooo many accidents here in Arizona, more than my whole life growing up in England! On Saturday I was on my way downtown & there was a message on the I-10 message system about an accident at 7th Avenue (just before my exit), I carried on hoping to get around it, as it looked pretty clear. Then I see a Honda Civic & a truck stopped in the middle of the Interstate & a woman with a baby wondering around!

There were no emergency vehicles around, so I called 911 to report it, as it looked like it had just happened, despite the message. As I was about to exit, I noticed 4 trooper cars all stopped around a bike which looked like had disintegrated. I'm glad I called 911, as it must have been 2 accidents, less than a mile apart. Crazy.

In Tucson there have been two or three accidents already involving school buses, and the schools only restarted this week. Also a 60 year old man was knocked off his bike and killed when hit by a pickup truck last night. But as we all know what you have to do to obtain a driving licence here its no surprise and I'm sad to say it.

Also, slightly unrelated. I don't think I've ever seen someone on the hard shoulder of the A1(M) changing a spare tyre, but it seems every time I drive to Phoenix I pass about 3 or 4 vehicles jacked up, in both directions, having tyres changed. What do they do to their roads here?!
