It's Shrove Tuesday - who is having pancakes tonight?

Re: It's Shrove Tuesday - who is having pancakes tonight?
Yep, I making some for us tonight.
Had a shock the other day when my son told me I would have to wake him up early if we were having pancakes. I couldn't understand what he was talking about until I realised that he thought I was making american type pancakes for breakfast. This will be the first time in ages that I've made pancakes and I think our son has totally forgotten about what they are etc. In all but nationality he is so American.

I was going to buy some eggs but the supermarket didn't have any 'cage free' cartons so I didn't buy any and of course you need an egg to make pancakes.
Oh well....I'm the only one in our house who was interested in eating them today anyway....
I guess I'll be seeing a lot of people tomorrow with those 'ash' marks on their foreheads....there is a RC church a couple of blocks from our house and there is always a long line of traffic leading to their car park so they can go to mass early in the day.
