Default IRS form 1040NR

Not the best venue to bring up tax, but <g>:

I sold a vacation home in Florida during 2004, prior to emigrating UK - Australia and therefore need to send in the 1040NR to the IRS just to complete their records.

I have been entering the IRS website since 1st January but they haven't got the 2004 1040NR in their list of forms. Does anyone know how long they take to get them up and running?

I used to complete the "Closer connection" form every year, and these were always available in the first week of the year.

For various reasons I need to get it done ASAP - help!

Have you searched for it? H&R Block have a list of forms you can download, perhaps you can use that?

He's right! They haven't done it.

All forms available here. The EZ version is 2004 but the standard version is 2003. Why don't you email them and ask? I've always had helpful replies to IRS email queries.

I emailed them a couple of weeks ago - they just replied that I should either order the forms by phone, or keep checking the site.

When I tried to do the former, the guy at the order centre said HE didn't have them either!

I have just emailed them again, reminding them that it ain't there.

I did consider using the 2003 version but, knowing the IRS......

I've never had to fill in a 1040 before, only the "Closer connexion" form; it's only necessary this time 'cos I sold a vacation home last year so it's all a bit of a mystery. The closer connexion forms have always been on the forms site within a couple of days of 1st Jan.
