I want to know if it is at all possible to get a mortgage loan from UK to purchase a house here in the U.S?
Has anyone ever done this before?

Ask the bank....chances are slim though because of the risk, them repossessing it etc just isn't going to be worth the cost unless you've got something else as collateral.

A UK bank probably wouldn't have a clue how to service the loan, i.e. providing an escrow account for insurance, property taxes etc.
